History Needed

It’s 50 years since St George’s Church, in Rushbottom Lane, New Thundersley, became a parish in its own right. Before 1964 the church on this site was a Daughter Church to St Peter’s Church, Thundersley.

As part of the celebration there will be a history display of the church including a role call of its vicars, pictures of the original Daughter Church of St Peter’s,  the plans of the present church and the hopes for the future New Community Church Hall.

Do you know anything about the history of St George’s Church, or do you have any pictures of the church you are prepared to share with the church community and the Benfleet Community Archive?  If so contact either Sue Benton at St George’s  Church on 07599 375652 or the Benfleet Community Archive either by Email or one of our >open mornings at Benfleet library.
