The Hollywood

From Tea Rooms to Function Rooms

Tea Rooms/Restaurant

Today, The Hollywood is a well known and established local venue, catering for weddings, functions, conferences etc.  Originally, it stood on an un-made section of Shipwrights Drive, where tea dances were held and a tuck shop provided lunch time treats for the children of King John School.

The building itself has changed little over the years, albeit there have been extensions to provide larger premises, enabling the proprietor, Mr Mike Goff, to hire out the rooms for various functions.

  • My son had his very nice wedding and reception at The Hollywood in 2009. I can remember it as our tuck shop back in 1950s when I was at The Shipwright secondary school. Now sadly it has been replaced by houses. It’s a shame another bit of Benfleet history has been lost.
