Poynetts old farm house was to the south of the Round Hill on Benfleet Downs. It was apparently destroyed by fire some years ago and the site had been neglected but now permission has been given for a new home to be built at this location. When it is finished it will have one of the best views in Castle Point, looking out over Hadleigh Country Park and the Thames estuary.
