The Mayor's Reception on Armed Forces Day

Held in the atrium of CPDC Offices

After the Mayor had given his speech the reception started.

The Mayor’s guests included the High Sheriff of Essex, Mrs Lorna J Rolfe JP, and two Army officers: Lieutenant Colonel Richard Dixon-Warren (Joint Regional Liaison Officer East – 7th Infantry Brigade and HQ East – ‘The Desert Rats’) and Major Billings. Also present was a representative of the 5th Canvey Island Air Scout Group and local historian Len Hawkins.

Apart from the three Sappers from the Royals Engineers there were also several guests with military backgrounds, various Councillors and the Canvey Island Bay Museum.
